Terry passed away on Friday, September 10, 2022, in Connecticut. Sarvondre Eugenia Clark was born January 18, 1970, to Jimmy Lee Clark and Pharies Elaine Turner Clark in Sumter County, Georgia. She joined Travelers Rest CME Church at a young age.
Walter died peacefully on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at Glenn Eagle Healthcare & Rehab Center in Abbeville, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his youngest son Walter Lee Osborne Jr. Roscoe Lamar Jr. was born on July 5, 1948, in Americus, Georgia to the late Roscoe Lamar, Sr. and the late Mary Lou Lamar. At the age of 18, he moved to Hartford, Connecticut in search for better opportunities. He was also employed by the City of Hartford’s Department of Public Works, where he retired after 20 years of dedicated service.
During his time in Miami, Florida, he made a host of friends who will miss him dearly, as well as his childhood friends from Smithville, Americus and Albany Georgia. The present day West's Mortuary at 325 Drayton Street Montezuma remains on land purchased in 1949. Drayton Street is located one street west of GA highway 49 in the city limits. Throughout the years, the West's Mortuary porch was a welcomed spot that served as a nucleus for information exchange and community support. He returned after two years of military service and again went into business with Mr. Robert Johnson. After a year, he was able to become an independent businessman and purchased the business from Mr. Johnson who went into retirement.
